2. Overview

Guesstimate is a game without user accounts. We do not collect, store or send personal data to our own servers. The app is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. That service is the only place where data is processed, as described below.

3. Data on your device

Your records and chosen difficulty level are stored only locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

4. Advertising with Google AdMob

We show ads through Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google may process the following data:

Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, only with your permission; advertising ID on Android)
IP address and approximate location derived from it
Device and app information such as model, operating system, language and app version
Ad interactions (e.g. impressions and clicks), diagnostic and crash data of the ads SDK

Consent: Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked on first launch through Google's User Messaging Platform (IAB TCF) whether personalized ads may be shown and data may be processed for advertising. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you decline, Google only shows non-personalized or limited ads and processes only the technically necessary data (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in funding the app).

App Tracking Transparency (iOS): On iPhone we also ask whether the app may use your advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking. You can change this at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

International transfers: Google may transfer data to the United States. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition.

5. Retention

Local game data stays on your device until you delete the app. Data processed by Google through AdMob is subject to Google's retention periods.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future via “Privacy settings” at the bottom of the app’s home screen or on iPhone via the tracking settings. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For requests, contact the email address above. As we do not store data about you ourselves, we forward requests about advertising data to Google where needed.

7. Children

Guesstimate is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes

We update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
